On the bandwagon

I have seen many fellow bloggers doing a "top" list of their favorite cards of the year.
Here are a few of my favorites that I have made in 2010:

All of these were orders I received from people, for certain occasions. What do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know, they are all hand drawn by me, sometimes using inspiration from images I see in book, or online. Please forgive the photo quality, I am not very good at taking pictures.

energy, why do you forget me?

Oh I am so tired, I have no energy at all today, I am dragging myself through chores today. It is not like it is different from any other day. I have no energy what so ever, this has been going on for too long. It is soon time for me to visit the doctor again, and of course probably find no reason for this lack of energy.
I just have no idea why I am always so tired. I have no interest in doing much. I see a lot of people excited about tomorrow night, with big plans of having New Years Parties and family meals. We have no plans, only Dinner at my Aunt's and Supper at my parents on New years day, which I really have no interest in attending. I have a thyroid problem (which I take meds for) and the blood work keeps coming back fine for that, I take vitamin B12 supplements, and that always come back good too. So what is wrong with me. It is almost 3:00 p.m. here and I am still in my pj's. I am trying to clean up and do laundry, and trying to pack away the presents from Christmas. I wanted to try and make my first card using my cricut, but that doesn't seem to be happening today either.
I have an idea in my head for big changes in 2011, but if I don't figure out this energy that will never happen. I want to post about this idea, but I am scared to put it out there, to be honest putting it out there would mean I really have to try to do it. And I am scared to try it.
I will probably post about that when I take the leap to do it. I am just afraid to try and fail.

Well 2010 is almost over...

Did everyone have a good year? I hope so. Also a good Christmas is wished to you all.

Well the youngest stepson is brought home today (he is 10, and a very big momma's boy) the oldest (16) is still here with us. So that means another hour drive to bring him home later this week, so that means 2 hours return trip. With BF working til 5:00 everyday, it is me who has to drive them home, I don't mind usually, but this time of the year sucks,it gets dark way to early and too many moose on the roads. Normally it doesn't bother me much, but I get anxious while driving lately, no matter if I am the driver or not. My keyboard is giving out so I will catch you all later.

So happy right now...

I am now busy trying to reupdate my Gypsy, and also my cricut. Trying to figure it all out now, bit confusing, but I am sure I will eventually figure it out, there are plenty of blogs out there with great tutorials on them. And I know I can always ask someone from the many blogs I follow. So ladies, you may be getting a few question sent your way.
Pictures of Christmas and my cricut and gypsy. I already know I am falling in love. :)

Green Christmas

We won't be making any snowman here. We are having a lot of rain. Which for Newfoundland at this time of year is strange, a few weeks ago it was a few degrees warmer here than Florida!! That is unheard of for us
I don't mind the rain so much, just wish the wind would stop. I hate when it gushed up and you can hear and feel the house shake.
So we will not be having a White Christmas this year.
What do you think of my card?? It is hand drawn ( like all my other cards) I use pics I find as inspiration. Sorry about the poor photo, I have a thing or two to learn about taking good pictures, usually (if I remember) I take a quick pic just before I put it in a coordinating envelope, to be picked up for someone.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think please.

Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays to all of you from the sleeplesswonder. :)

Last day of school

Well I am just back from dropping Toby off for his last day of school before Christmas break. There is a sing - a - long later at the school. My bestie is picking me up so we can go together, then when it is finished we have to drive a few towns over for her OBGYN appointment. So the dad's are both picking the kids up today, he son is in the same grade as my son. That is how we met actually, at a healthy baby group while we were pregnant.

Is it just me or does the kids seem to get a shorter break then years ago?? It seems like to me, that when I was in school we got a lot more time off.

I should be in wrapping presents, but the BF is still in bed sleeping ( he is off this week) and of course that is where all the presents are. I am going to go make a cappuccino, enjoy that, and then sleeping or not I am going to start in at some wrapping, I will just bring it all out here in the living room.

Have a great day everyone.

Headers

How does everyone get such nice headers, I love the look of a lot of people's pages. I just have no idea how to do it. Anyone got some easy advice for me??

One week left are you ready??

Are you all ready for Christmas (for the ones who celebrate)??
I am done with most of my shopping, I am just hoping I am not forgetting anyone. I don't have any wrapping what so ever started yet, I took all the gifts I have out of hiding the other day when Toby was in school, I piled them all on my bed and couldn't for the life of me figure out where to start. So I didn't, I just organized it a bit better then it was, so most of the gifts that have to be giving out are separated from the ones that are for Toby and the SS's and us. We still don't have anything for the oldest SS, he is 16 now and we have no idea what to give him. The Bio B said he wanted his cell phone reactivated, so we were going to buy him a new one instead. But he said he used it last week, how do you use a phone if it is not activated?? I think she is trying to make a fool of us again. He mentioned he wanted a watch, so at least that is one thing we know he wants.
But of course we can't just get him a watch. We have a week left, and we are planning on driving to Walmart tomorrow after we drop them off at home, so hopefully we will get every thing clued up then.
Hope everyone is ready and if not I hope you get everything ready for Saturday.

Eeeeeeee!!!!!!

I am so excited, can you tell???
I was just holding my Gypsy in my hands. Can't wait to get home now so I can update it and register it to get some free carts. I can not wait to play with this, even though I can't produce anything till christmas day, when I get my Cricut from my parents.

Small towns can suck

I live in a very small town, which has it's good points and bad.
Good:
Safer place to raise my son.
Know almost everyone ( ok that is good and bad)
I could go on and on...
BAD:
No supply of craft supplies.

The closest Wal-mart I have is an hours drive, and it has a very tiny and expensive craft section.
The closest Michael's is 4.5 hours drive away. And those are the only 2 places for craft supplies. We finally have a Dollarama ( just opened) But that is also an hour away. It sucks. I mostly have to rely on the internet to do my craft shopping, so needless to say I don't have very many craft supplies. The prices of a lot of things are really good, but the shipping cost really sucks. And my budget is too tight to spend an extra 20.00 to 30.00 on a few card making things.
Don't get me started on the wait time. It drives me crazy.

Also I wanted to Thank Ruth Nixon for becoming my first follower. Thank you so much. I don't feel so alone anymore. :)

Someone is going to be very lucky. Hopefully it's me. :)

Christmas concert all finished

Well his concert went great!! All the little ones did great. What a crowd of people there to watch. I really hate crowds the last few years, no idea why, just do.
I am very proud of him, he said his part nice and clear and not too fast.

Well my tree is decorated, and most of the decorations are up. at least if anyone visits now it looks a little Christmasey (is that a word) in here. Even though I am far from in the mood for it to come.

One good thing!! My gypsy is in the province. I should *crosses fingers* have it tomorrow, at the latest Monday. Rod tried to tell me that I can't open it till Christmas... ha. I will be getting the mail while he is at work so I have a few hours before he comes home, and I know I am not going to be able to help myself.

Well got to run and make something quick for supper and get Toby ready for hockey. See you all later when I return frozen like a Popsicle.

Christmas concert

Tonight will be my son's first Christmas concert. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I just hope he doesn't get stage fright, and remembers his part. We have really practised a lot, so I am sure he will do good.
I just hate knowing what a big crowd is going to be there. I hate crowds, and it seems I hate them more and more each year. Most days now I would just rather stay home by myself, and not see or talk to anyone. What is going on with me.
I just can't seem to get in the Christmas spirit at all. My tree has been up for about a week, and it doesn't have an ornament or a light on it yet. I just can't seem to get in the mood to do it.
What gets you guys in the Christmas spirit?? Leave a comment and let me know, maybe it would give me some incentive to try. :)

You never know...

I am so touched by an offer a lady I have known for awhile just wrote to me. She is an older lady who babysits kids here in my town, if you ever need a full time babysitter she is the one to call. We don't have day cares and stuff here, so usually you have to find just one person to watch your children if you return to work. That is how I became to know her, when I would bring Toby to preschool and stuff, she was always there with someone else's child. She has a heart of gold that is for sure.
One of the mom's of a child she watches, had Hockey last night with my child, and I mentioned the pickle I am in with finding someone to watch my child today. My good friend was busy and couldn't do it. And anyone else I would have to watch him will be where I need to be today.
Well I woke this morning and of course checked facebook and there is a message from her, telling me that if I need someone to watch Toby to just bring him up. To me this is a big deal. I appreciate this so much. And have been stressing myself out over who I could get.
I couldn't bring him with me, but now I don't have to and I can still go myself. I was thinking I would have to miss it and stay home.
You never know who has your back until you need it. Thanks S, you have a hart of gold and you don't even realize it.

Is anyone out there???

Does anyone even read this blog? I know it is fairly boring, but I am hoping to be able to change that soon. :)
I am a follower of a nice few blogs, but no one is following me, or am I doing something wrong?

Leave me a comment if you are even reading this.

It's here!!!!!!

My cricut is here, only problem is it's at my parents house. It's a Christmas gift, and I am not allowed to have it till then. That's just plain mean, lol.
But my gypsy will be coming to my house, and I can't make any promises that I won't open it until Christmas.
I can't wait till it gets here, I am still a newbie when it comes to online shopping so I won't be able to relax till it arrives.
I will have no fingernails left by the time it does arrive.

Timing is everything...

How do you find time to make your cards and scrapbooking pages?? I can't ever seem to find time to make more than one a day, if I am lucky. How do you all do it? I wish I could find more time. But with housework, driving my boy back and forth from school, cooking, bringing my mom place to place, hockey practise, sunday school, etc. I just don't have time.
I am hoping to get more time once I get my cricut, and gypsy. And of course now the bf wants to go for a drive, and wants me to go too.

Church Craft

Well I had the craft night with the ladies from the church group last night. I was shaking I was so nervous. But all the ladies seemed to have a good time, I got a lot of thank yous and invites to come back again. I even got applause as I was leaving. I had my good friend come with me for assistance and support, she done an excellent job, she is used to the whole teaching thing, she was an assistant preschool teacher last year, so she had some experience.
This is what I taught the ladies how to make, I found it on a website and for the life of me I can not remember which one. I will update with the site if I can find it again.
Here it is :

What do you all think?? I wanted something fairly simple, but not too childish, and inexpensive too. I think I succeeded.

Why oh why??

After last night I am wondering why did I ever put my son in Hockey?? Even though he loves it, and is doing quite well. He could barely stand on his skates a few weeks ago and now he is skating all on his own. But my big distaste of it is the cold, going in a very cold building from a very cold outside. Sometimes it is warmer outside then inside or vice versa. Oh how I hate the cold.
Last year it wasn't so bad, if the weather was really cold I didn't have to go anywhere if I didn't want to, but now it's kindergarten, hockey, church stuff. Just stuff that I need to leave the house for.
Why can't humans hibernate like some animals????
