I am so impatient....

Well the BF was just home on his break, and we got to talking, he will be getting some money back from his taxes (which we didn't think he was getting) and instead of spending it on something he wants, he is going to be giving the money to me/my dad for my craft room. We were talking about how the room should be, and I showed him, by making imaginary lines on the floor, where my room will be, he stopped me and said " But that isn't very wide, how about this way* pointing and drawing lines with feet* If we go with what he said I will have something around a 12' by 14' room!!!! I am so excited, and so pleased. He is so encouraging me lately it is unreal, even when no one would help me with starting up my own business, he has been encouraging me ever since I started the ball rolling. This means more to me then he will ever know.
When there is more progress to show I will have pics. :)
Hope you all have a great weekend.

And so the long process begins.....

*Warning very messy room*
So this is our undone basement/storage/junk area, lol.
My dad (love him) is currently starting MY craft room!!!!!! I am so excited, this will be a long slow process though, he is doing it in his spare time, he works so he can only work at it here and there, I have been down helping him, but I can barely hammer a nail straight, so I am just holding the 2x4 and stuff. He had to remove the old paneling that was there, because there wasn't any insulation at all, and then we discovered the foundation is cracked, and not just in one place, there are a few bad cracks there. The former owner must have known this because there were a few badly done patches on the cracks. But anyway, this will slow it down even more, but I will eventually have my own room!!!

This is where the doorway to my room will be.

There will be a wall here, and the doorway around the corner, to the right of this pic is my son's toy room (built by me dad) and my laundry room.

This will be the back of my room, we have decided we are going to divide our basement, nearly in half. I am not sure of the measurements at all but I think it will be plenty big.
So watch this space for more updates. :) When it is finished I will need LOTS of tips and advice of how to decorate this room. :) And who better to help me then my friendly crafty peeps. You guys.
Oh I can't wait, and I hate waiting lol.

Door signs, and an easel card.

These are 3 door signs I have made for a lady, the look pale because the transfer tape is over them ready to be put on the wall.

Here is another Easel card I made, with free coloring images. The card stock and ribbon are all bought from Walmart. I think I need to start making a list of the materials I use, how do you all remember exactly what papers and embellishments you use?? Do you make a list or just know?

The Easter bunny comes tonight. :) I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

First Easel card for baby's first easter

This is the card when it is closed. I used just plain old cardstock for the base, the blue is card stock from the same pack, the Easter BG paper is from a holiday pack of papers I got at walmart last week, I blinged the corners with rhinestuds with my irock, and the image is from a free coloring page at fisher-price.

I colored the image with normal crayola markers, nothing fancy, really wish I could figure out how to get rid of the streaks, any suggestions????? I then used normal crayola coloring pencils and went around the outer edge of the image, I thought the marker and pencil were too close in color, so I then drew around the edge of the stamp with a white gel pen. Does it look ok???
Here is a picture from the side to show how it is propped up, I just used PSP to write out the Happy Easter
wording, then popped that up to make a stopper, I used popdots for it.

I then used PSP again to write out the little sentiment.

This is my first ever easel card, I don't know what I was afraid of, lol. It was really easy. Measurements scare me lol. Now I just have to figure out a way to make an envelope for it.

On another note, I ordered a Cinch, and it is in the province, but the capital. It arrived there last night, and it didn't come today so I have to wait until TUESDAY!!!! OMG this is driving me knowing it is so close yet so far away. I have a zap heat gun and embossing powder coming too!!! I have a lot of new things to play with coming. And I have some exciting news but I will save it for a new post and also for when I have some pics of it.
Hope you all have a great Easter holiday.

Card I have worked on today.

A lady asked me to make a thank you card for a little figure skater her daughter helps coach. Well she emailed an example of how she wanted the card to look.

I found the bear doll on CAFE's blog * I will add the link later

I used the shoes as a template and free hand cut the skates, and blades
And this is how the card turned out, I pop dotted the bear off the card, can you tell it says thanks behind the bear??
And this is the pic the lady sent me, what do you think??? I think mine turned out ok. * I will post the webpage of the original later too.

Have a great weekend everyone.

LOOK what I just ordered...

I just ordered my cinch tool. From Enchant Art
Plus a few extra covers and wires, all for 160.00 and some change. I just got a little tax refund, which I said to myself, I was going to treat myself since my little cash I had saved away had to go toward other things not craft related. This was a hard choice, because there is soo much on my "want/need" list when it comes to supplies, but I have heard so many other bloggers raving about this machine I just had to have it. You guys are bad influences hahaha, my arm did not need to be twisted too much. Now the wait begins... the mail to here is sooooo slow. I think we must have been the ones to invent the tern "snail" mail cause I tell you it is slower then a snail for sure. It says 4 to 7 business days, I will be lucky to get it in 2 weeks.
Oh and the 160.00+ is including shipping which was a whopping 41.00!!!! I guess because of the size and weight, but shipping for me is always crazy no matter what it is.
I am so excited though. Better watch this space for albums coming soon. :)
I want my own business of making things such as albums, wall deco, cards, glass etching and so forth, I mentioned this in a previous post that I have been looking for places to help me with grants and stuff, and no one seems to want to help me because I don't fall into certain categories, well you know what I say to them... FINE I don't need your help!!!! I will do this all on my own, it may take me longer but with the help of God I will do it. So you can take your 29% interest loans and stick them where the sun doesn't sun.

I think I'm Paranoid

I have the song from Garbage running through my head now... I am so glad I was just being paranoid the other day, I think sometimes I am way too hard on myself. I am so thankful for all the comments confirming my paranoia lol. I guess with this whole blogging thing it is good to be noticed, and my unique name helps I am sure. :)
Thank you all for putting my fears to rest, I tried to comment back either to the commenter's blog or Facebook page and thank them personally for their loving comments. :)
Alot of people have asked me where I got the skate for a card I made in a previous post, I couldn't remember so I searched and I had found the skate SVG over here at Tu J's and a Taco. She has an awesome site maybe go and check her out. :)
Hugs everyone, I feel a lot better now. :)

Good or Bad, that is the question....

This has been bugging me since last night ( I hope it is just me being paranoid) But I was on Ustream for the Scrapbooking Queen's Birthday Ball, The people at the Ustream/ball seen me come on and said "hi Sleeplesswonder, gee you are everywhere." And then laughed.  I asked was it a good thing or bad thing that they all notice me and that I am everywhere, but the chat was very busy, as were the party guest, and my question never got answered.
I really hope this is me being paranoid. When I decided to get into the blogging world, I never realized how addicting and huge the Crafting Community Online is. But I jumped right in and started watching Ustream, and doing hops, and following the rules. With Ustream it is funny, because of the time difference it is always 10:00 p.m. or later, and my kid is in bed, and I am on the computer. I craft from my computer desk, so I spend every spare minute at my desk. And I tend to take breaks in between crafts and surf the net, mostly reading the blogs I follow.
So do you think it's a bad thing that bloggers are starting to notice me everywhere?? Am I being rude and following so many bloggers? I hope not because this is something I really enjoy, and I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes or anything. Sorry I just had to get that out. If it is a good thing, why do I have a small number of followers, and barely any comments, I love the ones I do have though. Am I doing anything wrong?? Please someone help me out with this.
Plus here is a card I made over the last few days, it took me that long because life always gets in the way lately. :) Let me know what you think of it.
Well I am getting ready to start on a hop, hope it's ok.
Have a great weekend everyone.

1st and 2nd attempt at the tri-fold shutter card

This is my 1st tri fold shutter card, I made this for my besties baby shower.

This is the 2nd one, I had a request to make, it is for a figure skating coach. I drew the stars with a glitter pen, and I (later) added i-rock pink stones to the corners.

What do you think?? Please leave me a comment and let me know. I suck at taking pictures though. :)

Local Ice show coming up

I can not wait till next Sunday. The figure skating club is having their annual Ice Show. I don't have any children in it, but I am close to a few kids that will be in the show. And I LOVE figure skating, when I was younger ( I started when I was 4) I used to skate at the same arena. But I think now if I got on a pair of skates my bum would not like me the next day, I probably would be doing a lot of falling, it has been too long since I have worn a pair of skates. Anyhow, I am excited about the show. I have had a few orders this week for Ice Show congrats cards. So here are some of them...

We have a local Dance show coming up to, here are just a few of the cards I have done for that so far.

And here is a Birthday card I did for a Little 4 year old I know. What do you think.?? Tinkerbell is from the Disney Tinkerbell and Friends cart. 1st time using it. On the front I used the insides of the circle I used for the inside, know what I mean.

So how was your weekend?? I hope you like me cards. Please leave me a comment letting me know. I love comments.
