Summer time means campfire time

This is some of my family, the 3 ppl on the right are my cousins, visiting from China, their other little girl is off exploring the beach.
We had a wonderful day starting with a fire on the beach of the Atlantic ocean. I (and the rest of the community) take for granted that we live right next to the Atlantic, it was wonderful seeing this from someone else's eyes. I am so glad they had fun at the beach, I had a great time catching up with them as well.

I have not been very active on here but I have been caught up with tons of life stuff. I am trying to stay busy with my crafts because I will be having my first ever table at a craft fair type thing. Any tips from my fellow craft fair bloggers on how to best display my crafts???

Changing crafts again.

This (above) is what is taking up most of my crafting time lately. Smile I am still working with Vinyl, and clay, and cards, just beading is taking over lol.

I love making bracelets and learning new stitch techniques. And I like the fact that I can do this on the couch instead of going to my chilly craft room. Smile

What is everyone else doing?? hope everyone is great.

I have not received a comment since I switched over to the new dashboard with blogger, I hope it’s just a coincidence, well if it is blogger messing up good, cause I know that will be fixed, but if it’s because I have lost the few followers I had, I am sad Sad smile and sorry I know my post have been sucky and few lately. Forgive me please.

Yogurt review…

I just tried a new yogurt. I bought these yogurts yesterday. They are from Yoplait Source Dessert. And I give them a 7 out of 10. I have only tried the Cafe Latte flavour yet, but this one passed, and I am not a fan of coffee. But this was yummy.
You get 16x100g containers in a pack, and at my grocery store they were on sale for $6.49 CDN so to me that is a good price. And they don’t contain added sugar so to me that’s a good thing. Most of the yogurts sold at the store near me has a crap load of sugar.
The pack I bought comes in the following flavours:
Creme caramel, Cafe latte, Strawberry parfait, Raspberry-chocolate. Can’t wait to try the other flavours. So I will be editing this post as I try more of them. Smile
Go get some yummy goodness.
Hugs everyone, have a great Wednesday,
Melissa D
**** Updated: Raspberry-chocolate is I'd say about a 6 out of 10. And I don't even like raspberries. :)

You know what? Think about this... you work a traditional job typical 8 hours a day five days a week. You actually SPEND money to make money. How do you ask? Well.... THINK about it. You work in an office job right? You spend money on clothes, gas, a 6 dollar cup of starbucks coffee on the way, food for lunch eating out.... Business casual work clothes. You spend money to sit in that office 9-5 every weekday to get a check for x amount of dollars and its 100% cancelled every 2 weeks. How? Well.... your hard work paid off, you cash your check and you have to do it all over again!!! Fast food workers, or retail workers you do the same thing. Your shoes wear off after so many months and you have to buy new shoes for work, clothes, accessories to look good. RIGHT? YES..... why keep spending money on stress, stupid customers, and dreading going to work everyday; when you CAN work from home. :) Everybody wants money to fall into their laps SURE!!! But in tough economic times, 100% debt free company, NO SALES, NO INVENTORY, No PARTIES, NO DISTRIBUTIONS and ltitle to no risk!!! I do not wear shoes when i work. I do not even have to spend gas or fancy clothes. It is a WONDERFUL opportunity and the residual income will come month after month and the nice part is, no lay offs. This company is growing by the numbers and if you do not believe me open your mind and JOIN me for an overview with a second income specialist today!
Have a great weekend guys,

Dentist phobia conquered (sort of)

Well I am headed to the dentist again tomorrow, for I think my 6th time in the last couple months. Needless to say I am getting over my fear. But she is the only dentist I will go to, her reciptionist called once, saying she had to reschedule, and if I wanted to see her college, or wait for her. I decided to wait.
I think once you find a GOOD dentist, it is easier to get over your fear.

Jinx myself

I guess I shouldnt have said I was going to post more. I have not stopped since Friday. My dad had a mild heart attack, so I have been helping keep my mom calm and trying to be there for him, which is hard because the hospital is 1 hour drive away. Drive my son to school this morning, headed to the hospital, drove back to get my son from school and headed back over, they finally released him from the ICU so that means my son can see him now, I want him to see him because my dad is headed to the major hospital for the province, to have some procedures done. It is so scary, because he has had a triple by past done about 9 years ago. I am just trying to keep thinking positive. Got to go an will try to update soon.

Yes I am actually posting. :)

This blog has been suffering lately, and I am sorry for that. I have lost my motivation for a lot of things lately. But I have been crafting.

I even made my first beaded bracelet tonight, wanna see a pic??? You do right?? Right?? Well even if you don’t I am going to show you anyway. Hahaha.

Here is is, I did it in the colors of the old before Confederation flag of Newfoundland, here is a pic of the flag as well just for reference. Smile

And here is my bracelet…

Opps camera strap. Smile103_2574

The colors didn’t show up to well in the pic, but the are almost an exact match to the flag, just sparkly, and also the bigger bead is a Swarovski bead. I think it turned out nice for my first try.

Also did another first last night…

My first clay Easter basket and bunny…

What do you think??

Well got to go, hope to post more often soon, when I get my mojo back.

Red head.....

For some reason, this is not the right color, this looks like it could be a natural red hair color. But my hair is anything but a natural looking red lol. I like it, it's not the red I was hoping for, but ah well. I will try a different shade the next time. This was Manic Panic Rock and Roll Red.

Short post. It is almost 2 am and I have to get up at 7 am.
Hugs everyone,

I am still here…

I am so sorry, my blog has been put on the back burner lately. I have had a lot of real life crap going on. Since it has gotten a lot colder here, and my craft room is downstairs, I haven’t spend much time down there. And I haven’t been feeling very up to doing much crafting.
First off… I am now on medication for my diabetes, still trying to get the hang of all that not so fun stuff.
Secondly… I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. So I look real attractive at bed time now, with a big mask on my face. I am tempted to take a pic of myself wearing it. No amount of anything would make it look decent.
But sense my health is being crappy lately, I want to make a change in my appearance… And the quickest thing I can think of to change is my hair. I will be going from my mousey brown (long over due for a color) hair, to bleached blonde, then (whenever the mail gets to me) Rock and Roll Manic Panic Red. I want a BIG hair change and I am crossing my fingers it is going to look nice.
Here is a before pic, sorry about the “dirty” hair, but it was recommended before dying to not wash it the day of dying. I am headed to my friends house later and she is going to dye/bleach my hair for me. I will post a pic later. And then again once my red color goes in. Wish me luck lol.
See ugly boring hair, Smile.
Let’s hope the after pic will be better.
Melissa D

EDIT: Okay, I said I would post the blonde "in between" hair. OMG what a difference, But I don't think I will stay a blonde, now just cross my fingers that my red gets here soon!!!

yeah, not sure what to think lol.
The look below is the look I am going for.

Cross your fingers for me. haha

I did a little shopping today, and while I was there I decided to pick up a few pens to try for my claying.

That is what I have been up to as of late.

First I want to apologize for going AWOL. With Christmas and all I have been so busy, making clay ornaments for people and dealing with a lot of health issues, and also activities with my son.

So sorry for not posting/blogging.

But anyway, I picked up some pens today to test, the 2 packs on the right are from the dollar store, and the one to the left (BIC) is from Wal-Mart.

I am really hoping the dollar store ones work, because 1.50$ for 20 is such a good deal, but not such a good deal if they are not over safe.

So here we go.

Three different kinds of ball point pens. Bic, Papermate, and Studio.

Here they are ready for the oven. I folded up some tinfoil in an accordion fold so they are not resting flat on the baking sheet. I saw someone said to use cardstock, but to me paper + heat, not a good combination.000_0003

Well they all came out of the oven fairly good, the Studio one had a little bend in it, so I would not recommend that one. But the papermate and the BIC stood up pretty good.

At least they didn’t turn out like these pens below, I found these around the house, and I was itching to try covering a pen with clay, but this is what happened…

Needless to say this was a fail lol.

But here are my first 2 attempts with the pens that were oven safe…

What do you think?? I think they turned out pretty good for my first try.

Well I will leave you all for now, have to get my boy ready for bed.

Hope you all had a great weekend, and have a great week.
