Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you all know I am still here. I have some family/personal stuff going on right now, so I probably won't be posting much. But I am still reading your blogs and commenting, have to take breaks some times, and reading your blogs helps me escape, and gives my brain a rest.
Hopefully I will have some fun projects to show you all soon. For now take care.

Look what came, and issues...
I am so excited, I have already played around with it a little just to test it out. :) I am shocked at how heavy this smallish machine is. Well at least I have this to play with now, because my computer is soon flying out the window...
We/I have reformatted this computer 4 times in the last week, and it is still causing me errors and not letting me onto certain blogs/sites. I was half way through a blog hop, went to close a window of someones blogs, and the page kept popping up again and again, there was like 50 of the same page up. It is just not working right and I am getting really frustrated. I am hoping to convince the BF to get a new computer for me. :$ not sure how that one will go over. But I do need a good computer and this one is no longer cutting it. I would not be surprised it I can't even post this.
So you probably won't be seeing much of my the next few days till I get this figured out.
I got my blood work results back, and my thyroid is gone completely out of whack again, so pill adjustment time. My blood sugar was a little high (8.9) so she wants me to faste again Sunday night and get blood work again.
At least I may start feeling better soon once the new pills start to work.
Pray for me and my computer, just kidding. :)

Need some Kiddie questions answered...
OK you see those glass beads there in the picture??? Well how long do you think this would take to go through a 5 year year olds system?? Yeah that's right, Sunday night my son swallowed one of these, how he managed to do this I will never know. But I have called the ER, and they said it should pass as long as it wasn't cracked or jagged, which it wasn't. I have been making him use his potty (from potty training) I am glad I kept the potty. He doesn't mind using it at least. It is just easier to inspect *GROSS* his you know what.
But how long should this take?? This is day 3. I am so afraid it is stuck inside somewhere.
Hope you are all having a better week then this worried mom. :)

Hope 3rd time is the charm
This will be my 3rd night of fasting, for blood work in the morning. I don't have a problem with the not eating, but the not drinking is nuts. You might be wondering why this is the 3rd night, no I didn't forget myself and drink in the morning. We have been snow bound for 3 days. I am not chancing the weather to get to the hospital just for blood work. We have to travel along a steep cliff (which leads to the beach of the Atlantic Ocean) and in whiteout conditions, no way I am not driving. I had an accident last year on that same stretch of highway, I am not a dummy lol. So I am crossing my fingers tomorrow will be better. The weatherman says it will be. Let's hope he is right this time.

Two projects done, one small, one big..
I added my son's name, and a batman symbol to his hockey helmet. This was my first time using vinyl, I don't know what I was so afraid of. I loved using it. So there will be more projects done with vinyl coming. :)
Here is the baby invites I have been working on, I can't take all the credit, my bestie and her mother have been helping, after all the shower is for her. :)
Here they are when you pull out the invite from the diaper. I found the diaper template online, and traced and hand cute each one of them. We made the bows and the invites.
Here they all are, almost complete. I still have to add some text to each one. Good thing we are snow bound lol. Gives me more time to get them done.
So what have you guys been up to?? Would love to see your projects.

Hehehe look what I got...
I know it seems funny to get excited about such a small thing for some of you guys, but this is a big thing for me, cause the BF actually let me buy it, plus 2 rolls of vinyl. He was in a good mood today so need to take advantage of it lol. I have a friskars trimmer already but for some reason it wasn't cutting my paper equally, the top would measure correctly but at the bottom it would be slanted. It was so annoying. I have no idea what caused it to start doing that, has anyone else had the same problem??
I will be posting some of the baby shower invites as soon as my bestie gets the rest of the papers to me, but we are having a storm warning right now, and it is not nice out there. If I venture out later I will get them from her, so I can get them finished before Friday!! Not a whole lot of time.
Hope you are all having a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Melissa D

What I have been up to today.
I have been helping my bestie make some baby shower invites. 130 to be exact. So I cut all of these scalloped circles out using my cricut, and hand wrote the "it's a shower". I am now waiting for her to bring down the rest of the stuff to put them all together and try to get them finished for Friday.
I also took part in Kinderstampo's birthday blog hop. Why not pop over there and hop along as well.
Just click here to go to her blog.

Ok everyone if I disappear from here it is because my BF has flipped. LOL J/K.
He might be mad but oh well, I had to have this...
He might be mad but oh well, I had to have this...
I just ordered the CuttleBug from The shopping Channel. They have a good deal TODAY, the cuttlebug and mats, and 13 embossing folders for 89.95, of course I had to order an extra folder bundle to go with it. I selected 4 easy pays, so hey I can make those payments. I will make it up to him somehow. I am just not sure how I will break the news to him when he gets home. He is a very big penny pincher, and hates when I spend any money at all, especially when it is craft stuff.
Wish me luck.

Question time again...
Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great Sunday.
I have a question again, that I hope some of you can answer...
The Cuttle bug or the sissix which one is the best machine for my money, I have researched them, and my head is spinning. Have any of you tried both? I only want it for embossing, seeing as I already have my cricut, I figure any cutting I need to do I can do it on that. So it is really for embossing. Or is there maybe another machine on the market that can do it just as well for maybe cheaper?? I like both, just want to know how good they preform before I have to spend money on them. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I am still trying to work on my business plan, so that has me very busy, the agency wants to know how much it is going to cost for supplies, which is very hard to do, what machines and supplies are a must instead of just a want, lol cause I want it all. Haha don't we all.
Please leave me some love and advice. :)
Have a great Sunday.

Melissa D

Need a little help... Please
Ok guys, I need some help/advice.
I have a lady calling tomorrow morning, from a government company that may be able to help me open my business. And she will be asking what supplies I will need.
I am planning on making homemade cards, wall deco (vinyl art) etched glassware/picture frames... etc.
I have a cricut create, and I have my gypsy, and my rotary tool. What other machines/tools would you all suggest I would need??
I am thinking,
I know I will need tons of card stock and vinyl, and adhesive, and patterned paper and stamps. The tools I am thinking I will need are:
A yourstory for making guest books, etc.
A cuttlebug to embellish my cards more
A bind it all for mini albums
Etch armour for the etching
More Cartridges for the cricut ( I only have 3)
Later I want to get a bigger cricut, right now I am limited to 6" x 12"
I want the i-rock and i-top and i-bond too, but I figure those will come later as well.
So what tool can you not live without for making your everyday crafts??

I did it!!!
I have an appointment on Monday at 2:00. At least this is a start. I will be a bundle of nerves until Monday. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
Big changes are coming...
I have made my desicion. I am going to try and open my own local business. I have been mulling this over and over in my head, and I am dabiling in it right now, but I would love to be able to do this full time. I want to open a local card/gift store of my own creations.
We have a company here in town that helps people like me who want to start up. I am calling them tomorrow and hopefully be able to get an appointment with them to discuss my plan.
I have mentioned this to a few close friends and they are all encoraging me to go for it. I am just afraid to take the leap. But tomorrow I am going to bite my lip and do it.
Do any of you guys have a local or online business ( I know some of the blogs I follow do). Anyone have any advice for me? I want to do just local right now, and see how that goes, and god willing maybe expand later to online as well.
Please send me good vibes for tomorrow, I am going to need it.
Thanks for listening.

Baby shower guest list
Here is a baby shower guest list I made for someone. I used my cricut for it. I am not sure yet if I will add more to it or not, I outline the letters and some of the cuts with marker to make them stand out more. What do you think? I know the picture is not the best.
Have a great day everyone.

Psa Stamper VS. Tc Stampmaker
I am going back and forth, should I save money for a little while... for the PSA Stamper (which is around 40-60.00 Online of course) Which I could still get a personalized stamp, but would have to buy extra middles and stuff, and it's self inking. Or should I save for longer and try to save enough to buy the Stampmaker from Teresa Collins, which is around 169.00 But I would not have to buy another stamp and I could just make my own, and just had to buy the refill stamp making stuff. Hmmmmm.
Either way I have a lot of saving to do. It sucks when almost everything I want/need for card making and scrap booking has to be bought online. Also that we live in a single income family, with tons of child support that has to be paid. But I know if I really want either of these, I will have to try really hard to save, save, save.
Which one would you choose? Or do you already own either of them? How do you find them? Good quality, easy to use? Please leave me some comments. :)
Have a nice night everyone.

Getting back to normal
Well as normal as anything ever is. My son goes back to Kindergaten today. He is having lunch now, then I need to get him cleaned up and dressed and have to drop him at school.
My plan today was to get at a few crafts things I need to get done, but while my mother was here this morning, before she left she asked me what am I doing after lunch. Because she is coming out. Urgh, ok I love my mother but seeing her everyday 2 or 3 times a day is getting to be too much. It would be fine if she just came and had tea, but no she has to bitch and wine about my house not looking spik and span all the time. Hello, I have a kid, there are going to be toys around. She then starts in at my housework, sometimes yes I appreciate the help, other times enough is enough.
Any how... I made my first layered cut with my cricut. I just chose the stork from 3 Birds on Parade that came with my cricut.
Here it is, what do you think??
I went as close to the colors in the book as I had on hand. I just wanted to try it to see how it all fit together. I don't think it's too bad for my first time. I think I did everything right.
